The Garden

The Garden (2006-2009) is an interactive installation that detects and responds to the viewer's movements. Once the viewer gets within range, the papier-mâché flower encloses its petals within its leaves, shaking nervously. If the viewer continues to approach, the flower responds by becoming aggressive, snapping its petals and leaves open and shut. The intruder in turn reacts to the flowers, realizing the impact they are having on this environment will chose either to retreat or embrace the confrontation.
